'''David Wohl''' is an American comic book writer and editor. He is best known as an editor at [Marvel Comics](/source/Marvel_Comics) and [Top Cow Productions](/source/Top_Cow_Productions) and, at the latter, writing ''[The Darkness](/source/The_Darkness_(character))'' and ''[Witchblade](/source/Witchblade)''.

==Career==
David Wohl began his creative career as a [high school](/source/high_school) intern at [Marvel Comics](/source/Marvel_Comics). He later became an assistant editor on titles ranging from ''[Spider-Man](/source/Spider-Man)'' to ''[X-Men](/source/X-Men)'', and later still was promoted to managing editor.

In 1993, Wohl left Marvel to become editor-in-chief and executive vice president of [Top Cow Productions](/source/Top_Cow_Productions), eventually becoming president in 1999. While at Top Cow, he co-created and wrote such comic book franchises as ''[The Darkness](/source/The_Darkness_(character))'', ''[Witchblade](/source/Witchblade)'', and ''[Aphrodite IX](/source/Aphrodite_IX)''. He worked as a producer on the ''[Witchblade](/source/Witchblade_(U.S._TV_series))'' television series that aired on [TNT](/source/TNT_(U.S._TV_network)) for two seasons. Several episodes of the series were based on Wohl's original story ideas.

In 2003, Wohl joined [John Woo](/source/John_Woo)'s [Tiger Hill Entertainment](/source/Tiger_Hill_Entertainment) as creative director, working with Clive Barker on ''[Demonik](/source/Demonik)'' for [Majesco Entertainment](/source/Majesco_Entertainment) and with Woo on ''[Stranglehold](/source/Stranglehold_(video_game))'' for [Midway Games](/source/Midway_Games).

In 2006, Wohl became vice president of development for the fledgling animation company Blockade. As of the late 2000s, the company has four shows in production, led by a television series based on [Sony](/source/Sony_Computer_Entertainment)'s ''[Heavenly Sword](/source/Heavenly_Sword)'' videogame franchise.

Wohl has also worked on comics for [HBO](/source/HBO)'s ''[True Blood](/source/True_Blood)'' and [New Regency](/source/New_Regency)'s ''Se7en'' franchise.

After a two-year stint as editor-in-chief of [Radical Comics](/source/Radical_Comics), Wohl resumed his role at Blockade, and is currently creating and writing several new projects with [Aspen Comics](/source/Aspen_Comics)<ref name=cbr22588>{{cite web |first=Shaun |last=Manning |url=http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=22588 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090820054256/http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=22588 |url-status=dead |archive-date=August 20, 2009 |title=David Wohl Discusses New Role as Radical's EiC |publisher=[Comic Book Resources](/source/Comic_Book_Resources) |date=August 18, 2009 |accessdate=February 26, 2010 }}</ref> and served as producer on the film adaptation of ''[Ratchet & Clank](/source/Ratchet_%26_Clank_(film))'', released in April, 2016, as well as ''[Sly Cooper](/source/Sly_Cooper_(film))'' (currently in development).
