# David Wilman

**David Wilman** (19 December 1934 – 9 August 2020) was a British [field hockey](/source/Field_hockey) player who competed at the [1964 Summer Olympics](/source/1964_Summer_Olympics) and the [1968 Summer Olympics](/source/1968_Summer_Olympics).[1]

## Biography

Wilman studied at the [University of Leeds](/source/University_of_Leeds) and represented the Universities Athletic Union hockey team in January 1957.[2] At county level he played for Yorkshire.[3]

Wilman represented [Great Britain](/source/Great_Britain_at_the_1964_Summer_Olympics) at the 1964 Olympic Games in [Tokyo](/source/Tokyo).[4] At the time of his first Olympic selection he played club hockey for [Cambridge City Hockey Club](/source/Cambridge_City_Hockey_Club).[5] When Wilman represented [Great Britain](/source/Great_Britain_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics) at the 1968 Olympic Games in [Mexico City](/source/Mexico_City) he was still with the Cmabridge City team.[4]

He left Cambridge City in 1969 after gaining a job at [Aberystwyth University](/source/Aberystwyth_University).[6]

Wilman died on 9 August 2020, at the age of 85.[4]
