==Life==
He was a member of the [New York State Assembly](/source/New_York_State_Assembly) (Oneida Co.) in [1833](/source/56th_New_York_State_Legislature) and [1835](/source/58th_New_York_State_Legislature).

He was a member of the [New York State Senate](/source/New_York_State_Senate) (5th D.) from 1836 to 1840, sitting in the [59th](/source/59th_New_York_State_Legislature), [60th](/source/60th_New_York_State_Legislature), [61st](/source/61st_New_York_State_Legislature), [62nd](/source/62nd_New_York_State_Legislature) and [63rd New York State Legislature](/source/63rd_New_York_State_Legislature)s.

In 1840, he married Mary Eliza Williams (c. 1811–1904), daughter of Judge [Nathan Williams](/source/Nathan_Williams_(New_York_politician)) (1773–1835). Their daughter Mary Wager married in 1863 State Senator [Alexander T. Goodwin](/source/Alexander_T._Goodwin) (1837–1899).
