# David Litvinov

**David Litvinov** (Hebrew: דוד ליטבינוב; born 23 September 1993)[1] is an Israeli weightlifter. He [represented Israel](/source/Israel_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics) at the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics) in Tokyo, Japan.[2]

## Career

Litvinov competed in the [men's +105 kg](/source/Weightlifting_at_the_2017_Summer_Universiade_%E2%80%93_Men's_%2B105_kg) event at the [2017 Summer Universiade](/source/2017_Summer_Universiade) held in Taipei, Taiwan and the [men's +105 kg](/source/2017_World_Weightlifting_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_%2B105_kg) event at the [2017 World Weightlifting Championships](/source/2017_World_Weightlifting_Championships) held in Anaheim, United States.[3] He also competed in the [men's +109 kg](/source/2018_World_Weightlifting_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_%2B109_kg) event at the [2018 World Weightlifting Championships](/source/2018_World_Weightlifting_Championships) held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan and the [men's +109 kg](/source/2019_World_Weightlifting_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_%2B109_kg) event at the [2019 World Weightlifting Championships](/source/2019_World_Weightlifting_Championships) held in Pattaya, Thailand.[4]

Litvinov competed at several editions of the [European Weightlifting Championships](/source/European_Weightlifting_Championships): he competed in the men's +105 kg event at the [2014 European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2014_European_Weightlifting_Championships) in Israel, Tel Aviv, at the [2016 European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2016_European_Weightlifting_Championships) in Førde, Norway, at the [2017 European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2017_European_Weightlifting_Championships) in Split, Croatia and the [2018 European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2018_European_Weightlifting_Championships) in Bucharest, Romania. He also competed in the men's +109 kg event at the [2021 European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2021_European_Weightlifting_Championships) in Moscow, Russia.[5]

In 2020, Litvinov won the bronze medal in the men's +109 kg event at the [Roma 2020 World Cup](/source/Roma_2020_World_Cup) in Rome, Italy.[1]

[Fernando Reis](/source/Fernando_Reis) of Brazil had qualified to compete in the [men's +109 kg](/source/Weightlifting_at_the_2020_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_%2B109_kg) event at the [2020 Summer Olympics](/source/2020_Summer_Olympics) in Tokyo, Japan but he was suspended after testing positive for [human growth hormone](/source/Growth_hormone).[6] He was replaced by Litvinov less than a week before the opening ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics.[2] Litvinov finished in 11th place with a total of 381 kg.[7]

In 2023, he competed at the [European Weightlifting Championships](/source/2023_European_Weightlifting_Championships) held in Yerevan, Armenia.
