# David Gunnell

**David J. Gunnell** is an English epidemiologist and suicidologist who is Professor of [Epidemiology](/source/Epidemiology) at the [University of Bristol](/source/University_of_Bristol). He was elected a fellow of the [Academy of Medical Sciences](/source/Academy_of_Medical_Sciences) in 2014[1] and received the [American Foundation for Suicide Prevention](/source/American_Foundation_for_Suicide_Prevention)'s Research Award in 2015.[2] He is also an [ISI Highly Cited Researcher](/source/ISI_Highly_Cited_Researcher).[3]
