**David Finfer** (June 7, 1942 – April 3, 2023) was an American film editor who was nominated at the [1993](/source/66th_Academy_Awards) Academy Award for [Best Film Editing](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_Film_Editing) for the film *[The Fugitive](/source/The_Fugitive_(1993_film))*. He shared the nomination with [Dean Goodhill](/source/Dean_Goodhill), [Don Brochu](/source/Don_Brochu), [Richard Nord](/source/Richard_Nord), [Dov Hoenig](/source/Dov_Hoenig) and [Dennis Virkler](/source/Dennis_Virkler).[1] *The Fugitive* (1993) was listed as the 39th best-edited film of all time in a 2012 survey of members of the [Motion Picture Editors Guild](/source/Motion_Picture_Editors_Guild).[2]

Finfer had over 40 credits since his start in 1971. He died on April 3, 2023, at the age of 80.[3]
