**David Boehm** (1 February 1893 in [New York](/source/New_York_City) – 31 July 1962 in [Santa Monica, California](/source/Santa_Monica%2C_California)) was an American [screenwriter](/source/Screenwriter).

He is best known for the 1944 [World War II](/source/World_War_II) heavenly [fantasy](/source/Fantasy) *[A Guy Named Joe](/source/A_Guy_Named_Joe)* (remade by [Steven Spielberg](/source/Steven_Spielberg) in 1989 as *[Always](/source/Always_(1989_film))*), for which he received an [Academy Award](/source/Academy_Award) nomination.[1] He also contributed scripts to *[Gold Diggers of 1933](/source/Gold_Diggers_of_1933)*, *[Ex-Lady](/source/Ex-Lady)* (1933), and *[Knickerbocker Holiday](/source/Knickerbocker_Holiday_(film))* (1944).
