**David Atiba Charles** [CM](/source/Chaconia_Medal) (born 29 September 1977) is a [Trinidadian](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago) former professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)) for several clubs as well as the [Trinidad and Tobago national team](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team).

In 2006 he left [W Connection](/source/W_Connection) to join Northern Irish club [Glenavon](/source/Glenavon_F.C.).

He was a regular for the [Trinidad and Tobago national team](/source/Trinidad_and_Tobago_national_football_team) during his career and was included in their squad for the [2006 FIFA World Cup](/source/2006_FIFA_World_Cup) in Germany.[2] Along with the other players on the 2006 World Cup squad, Charles was awarded the [Chaconia Medal](/source/Chaconia_Medal).[3]
