== Life and career ==

In 1995, Schubert moved to San Francisco to go to school at [SFAI](/source/San_Francisco_Art_Institute) after being awarded a scholarship to study photography.<ref name=":4" /> Once in California, he began submitting photographs to [''Slap'' magazine](/source/Slap_(magazine)).<ref name=":0" /> Focusing on the graffiti and skateboarding communities in the city, Schubert's images depict San Francisco skateboarding and graffiti of the 1990s and early 2000s.<ref name=":2" /><ref name=":4" /> Throughout his life, Schubert maintained an interest in street and [underground culture](/source/underground_culture).<ref name=":0" />

Schubert exhibited his work locally in San Francisco at the Luggage Store, the Shooting Gallery, Electric Works, the Geary Gallery.
