==History==
Dat'r was originally formed as a side project of the Portland-based [Rock band](/source/Rock_band) [Binary Dolls](/source/Binary_Dolls).  Alcott and Dabrowiak began pursuing Dat'r when Binary Dolls' singer [Nick Jaina](/source/Nick_Jaina) decided to focus on writing and performing [Folk music](/source/Folk_music).<ref name=ww>{{Cite web |url=http://localcut.wweek.com/2007/04/25/bnbdatr/ |title=Byrne, Michael. Shortly after the release of their [Hush Records](/source/Hush_Records) debut ''[Turn Up the Ghosts](/source/Turn_Up_the_Ghosts)'', Dat'r was voted #6 on the "Top Ten Best New Bands in Portland" by the [Willamette Week](/source/Willamette_Week), a local newspaper.<ref name=ww/> The album was praised by [PopMatters](/source/PopMatters), calling it "well-executed" and, "fun-as-hell".<ref>[http://www.popmatters.com/pm/music/reviews/32150/datr-turn-up-the-ghosts/ Matthew Fiander.
