# Daryl Boyle

**Daryl Boyle** (born February 24, 1987) is a [Canadian](/source/Canadians)-[German](/source/Germany) professional [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) [defenseman](/source/Defenceman) who is currently playing for [Schwenninger Wild Wings](/source/Schwenninger_Wild_Wings) of the [Deutsche Eishockey Liga](/source/Deutsche_Eishockey_Liga) (DEL).

## Playing career

A native of [Sparwood](/source/Sparwood), [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), Boyle spent four years with the [Brandon Wheat Kings](/source/Brandon_Wheat_Kings) of the WHL,[1] serving as team captain in 2007–08. He then played in the [American Hockey League](/source/American_Hockey_League), representing three different teams ([Norfolk Admirals](/source/Norfolk_Admirals_(AHL)),[2] [Rockford IceHogs](/source/Rockford_IceHogs),[3] [Peoria Rivermen](/source/Peoria_Rivermen_(AHL))). During the 2010–11 season, he also spent some time with ECHL's [Alaska Aces](/source/Alaska_Aces_(ECHL)).[4]

In 2011, Boyle signed his first contract in Germany with [Augsburger Panther](/source/Augsburger_Panther) of the [Deutsche Eishockey Liga](/source/Deutsche_Eishockey_Liga) (DEL). He spent three years with the club, serving as team captain in 2012–13 and 2013–14.[5]

In March 2014, Boyle agreed to terms with fellow DEL outfit [EHC München](/source/EHC_M%C3%BCnchen).[6][7]

Boyle played nine seasons with München, collecting four DEL titles with the club before leaving at the conclusion of the [2022–23](/source/2022-23_DEL_season) season on April 30, 2023.[8] On May 1, 2023, he was signed to a one-year contract to extend his career in the DEL with the Schwenninger Wild Wings.[9]

## International play

Boyle has dual citizenship in Canada and Germany. He made his debut on the German national team during the 2013 [Deutschland Cup](/source/Deutschland_Cup).[10] Boyle was a member of the silver medal winning German Olympic hockey team at the [2018 Winter Olympics](/source/2018_Winter_Olympics) in [Pyeongchang](/source/Pyeongchang), [South Korea](/source/South_Korea).[11]
