It is part of the [Socotra Archipelago](/source/Socotra_Archipelago) of [Yemen](/source/Yemen).  Darsah and neighboring [Samhah](/source/Samhah) ({{convert|17|km|0|abbr=on}} to the west) are collectively known as "Al Akhawain" ({{langx|ar|الأخوين}}) which means "The Brothers".

==Important Bird Area==
