# Darius Butkus

**Darius Butkus** (born November 11, 1972) is a Lithuanian former international [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played for [FK Ekranas](/source/FK_Ekranas) and [FK Nevėžis](/source/FK_Nev%C4%97%C5%BEis), as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)).

## International career

Butkus played two matches for [Lithuania](/source/Lithuania_national_football_team) at the [1993 Baltic Cup](/source/1993_Baltic_Cup).[1] He had previously played against [Finland](/source/Finland_national_football_team) and [Latvia](/source/Latvia_national_football_team) at an indoor [Baltic Cup](/source/Baltic_Cup_(football)) in February 1993.[2] The [Lithuanian Football Federation](/source/Lithuanian_Football_Federation) did not consider the matches to be official international games, but Lithuania's opponents and world governing body [FIFA](/source/FIFA) did.[3]
