# Danta Whitaker

**Danta Whitaker** (March 14, 1964 – March 23, 2020) was an American professional [football](/source/American_football) [tight end](/source/Tight_end).[1] The [New York Giants](/source/New_York_Giants) selected him in the seventh round of the [1988 NFL draft](/source/1988_NFL_draft) with the 186th overall pick.[2] He played [college football](/source/College_football) at [Mississippi Valley State](/source/Mississippi_Valley_State_University).

Whitaker also played for the [Kansas City Chiefs](/source/Kansas_City_Chiefs), [San Antonio Riders](/source/San_Antonio_Riders), [Minnesota Vikings](/source/Minnesota_Vikings) and [Chicago Bears](/source/Chicago_Bears). He died on March 23, 2020, at the age of 56.[3]
