He stayed as a player for three years before moving to [Schalke 04](/source/FC_Schalke_04) where he started his professional career. Latza's first professional appearance was in the [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga) on 14 February 2009 against [VfL Bochum](/source/VfL_Bochum), when he came on as a substitute for [Levan Kobiashvili](/source/Levan_Kobiashvili).[3] Latza joined the [SV Darmstadt 98](/source/SV_Darmstadt_98) for the [2011–12 3. Liga season](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_3._Liga). On 22 May 2013, it was announced that the [MSV Duisburg](/source/MSV_Duisburg) had signed Latza.[4] However this contract was valid only for the [2. Bundesliga](/source/2._Bundesliga) and was voided when the [Deutsche Fußball Liga](/source/Deutsche_Fu%C3%9Fball_Liga) denied [Duisburg](/source/MSV_Duisburg) the license to play in the [2013–14 2. Bundesliga season](/source/2013%E2%80%9314_2._Bundesliga). After a brief trial spell, Latza signed with the [2. Bundesliga](/source/2._Bundesliga) side [Bochum](/source/VfL_Bochum).[5] On 17 December 2016, Latza scored his first [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga) goals, a hat-trick for [1.
