==Career==
Kass was born in [Pompton Plains, New Jersey](/source/Pompton_Plains%2C_New_Jersey).<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20060209nbc01 |title=NBC Olympics and "Apprentice" Announce First-Ever Online Voting to Cast for Apprentice Six |publisher=[NBC](/source/NBC) |date=February 9, 2006 |access-date=April 14, 2008}}</ref> He was raised in the Scenic Lakes section of [Vernon Township, New Jersey](/source/Vernon_Township%2C_New_Jersey), and attended [Vernon Township High School](/source/Vernon_Township_High_School).<ref>[https://www.westmilfordmessenger.com/news/vernon-grown-danny-kass-is-living-the-good-life-IDWM20070314303149789 "Vernon-grown Danny Kass is living the good life"], ''West Milford Messenger'', September 29, 2011. Accessed February 15, 2024. "Danny Kass had his epiphany at the age of 17, although it’s doubtful he used that word to describe the moment when he beheld his future and saw that it was totally cool. He was still a student at Vernon Township High School at the time, but his real love was, as it had been since he was 9 years old, riding skateboards and snowboards and doing things on them that others would pay to see.... He grew up in the Scenic Lakes section of Vernon. Because he had a Hamburg mailing address, that borough claimed him on signs at the town border, but, he says, he’s only lived in Vernon."</ref> He began snowboarding in the area at the age of twelve. His home slopes are what are now known as [Hidden Valley](/source/Hidden_Valley_(New_Jersey)) and [Mountain Creek](/source/Mountain_Creek) ski resorts, both located in the mountains of Vernon Township and [Highland Lakes](/source/Highland_Lakes%2C_New_Jersey). After several years of shredding around the Mid-Atlantic States, Kass entered the [Okemo Mountain](/source/Okemo_Mountain) School in [Vermont](/source/Vermont). In 2001, Kass broke out into what has become one of the most successful contest streaks in snowboarding with four US Open Championships, seven Winter X Games medals and two Olympic silver medals.

During the winter of 2006, Kass fought his way back from a slow start in the US Grand Prix Circuit to qualify for the Olympics in Torino for the second time in a row. Kass took home another silver medal with back-to-back 1080s and his signature smooth style.

Kass and his brother Matt Kass were the founders of [Grenade Gloves](/source/Grenade_Gloves), which specializes in snowboarding gloves, accessories, and other extreme sporting gear.

Kass is one of the stars of ''The Adventures of Danny and The Dingo'' on Fuel TV. He also has a podcast with [Luke "The Dingo" Trembath](/source/Luke_Trembath) on the [Monster Energy](/source/Monster_Energy)'s [YouTube](/source/YouTube) channel, called ''Unleashed''.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWX4Jt4X9kypXNPYyJaBnL2Tpx5_Rw0IQ|title=Unleashed Podcast {{!}} Monster Energy|website=[YouTube](/source/YouTube)}}</ref>
