# Daniel Davidsson

**Daniel Jan Johan Davidsson** (born 17 March 1983 in [Motala](/source/Motala), Sweden) is a former [motorcycle speedway](/source/Motorcycle_speedway) rider from Sweden.[1][2][3]

## Career

Davidsson came to prominence after reaching the [World Under 21 final](/source/Speedway_Under-21_World_Championship) in 2002 and 2004.[4] In between the two finals he signed for his first British team [Poole Pirates](/source/Poole_Pirates) for the [2003 Elite League speedway season](/source/2003_Elite_League_speedway_season) and [2004 Elite League speedway season](/source/2004_Elite_League_speedway_season). The team completed two league and cup doubles during those years, although Davidsson was only really active for them in 2004.

He spent 2005 at [Coventry Bees](/source/Coventry_Bees) and [Peterborough Panthers](/source/Peterborough_Panthers) respectively, and sealed a third league title with Coventry during the [2005 Elite League speedway season](/source/2005_Elite_League_speedway_season). He returned to Poole in 2006 and 2008.[3] After the 2009 season he was transferred from Poole to [Lakeside Hammers](/source/Lakeside_Hammers).[5]

He reached three successive [Swedish Individual Speedway Championships](/source/Swedish_Individual_Speedway_Championship) from 2008 to 2010.[6]

In 2019, he was the team manager of [Piraterna](/source/Piraterna) in the [Elitserien](/source/Elitserien_(speedway)).[7][8]

## Family

His brother, [Jonas Davidsson](/source/Jonas_Davidsson) (born 1984), was also a speedway rider, as was his father [Jan Davidsson](/source/Jan_Davidsson) (born 1956).[9]
