Borsuk was born in [Montreal](/source/Montreal), [Quebec](/source/Quebec), and obtained his [Doctor of Medicine](/source/Doctor_of_Medicine) and [Master of Business Administration](/source/Master_of_Business_Administration) from [McGill University](/source/McGill_University)'s joint M.D., C.M. & M.B.A. program before pursuing [residency](/source/Residency_(medicine)) training in [plastic](/source/plastic_surgery) and [reconstructive surgery](/source/reconstructive_surgery) at [Université de Montréal](/source/Universit%C3%A9_de_Montr%C3%A9al).<ref name="Coming Home"/><ref name="bio">{{cite web |title=Daniel E.
