'''''Dance Factory''''' is a children's television show which ran for nine weeks from March to May 2005 at 10.30am on [BBC One](/source/BBC_One). It was simulcast on the [CBBC Channel](/source/CBBC_Channel). It is hosted by [Reggie Yates](/source/Reggie_Yates), with co-presenters [Camilla Dallerup](/source/Camilla_Dallerup) and Nigel Clarke.

The aim of the show is to pair six non-dancers with experts their own age in [Bhangra](/source/Bhangra_(dance)), [Irish dancing](/source/Irish_dancing), [pop](/source/Pop_music), [tap dancing](/source/tap_dancing), [hip hop](/source/Hip_hop_dance) and [musical theatre](/source/musical_theatre) styles. The contestants are drawn from all over the UK, and auditions were held in [London](/source/London), [Manchester](/source/Manchester), [Birmingham](/source/Birmingham), [Cardiff](/source/Cardiff), [Glasgow](/source/Glasgow) and [Belfast](/source/Belfast).

The next phase of the show sees the experts teaching their new partners how to dance, and also saw them meeting some showbiz stars to pick up tips along the way. These included [Michael Flatley](/source/Michael_Flatley), of [Riverdance](/source/Riverdance) fame; [Rio Ferdinand](/source/Rio_Ferdinand), the England and [Manchester United](/source/Manchester_United_F.C.) star; [Denise Lewis](/source/Denise_Lewis), Olympic gold medallist (also seen in ''[Strictly Come Dancing](/source/Strictly_Come_Dancing)'') and the cast of ''[Chitty Chitty Bang Bang](/source/Chitty_Chitty_Bang_Bang_(musical))'' in [London](/source/London)'s [West End](/source/West_End_theatre).

After six weeks of intense training and rehearsal, the contestants are thrust into live semi-finals, each of which saw one pair eliminated from the competition by CBBC viewers. The musical theatre pair of Stacey and Josh were eliminated first, followed by Teejay and Tom, the [Bhangra](/source/Bhangra_(dance)) pair, the week after.
