==Early education and career==
Gabriel received a bachelor's degree in journalism and a graduate degree in international affairs from [George Washington University](/source/George_Washington_University). After graduation, he worked as a staff operations officer in the CIA's Directorate of Operations, where he worked in the fields of counter-terrorism and counter-radicalization. ==Film career==
In 2013 Gabriel attended [New York University](/source/New_York_University)’s [Tisch School of the Arts](/source/Tisch_School_of_the_Arts), and spent 2014 studying at the [University of California](/source/University_of_California)’s School of Theatre, Film and Television. Between 2015 and 2017, Gabriel was the creator and executive producer for the documentary television series ''Life After Daesh'', airing on [Alhurra](/source/Alhurra).
