**Damal**, formerly **Petereke**, is a town in [Ardahan Province](/source/Ardahan_Province) of [Turkey](/source/Turkey), on the road from [Kars](/source/Kars) to [Posof](/source/Posof). It is the seat of [Damal District](/source/Damal_District).[2] Its population is 2,890 (2021).[1] It consists of 8 quarters, including [İnönü](/source/%C4%B0n%C3%B6n%C3%BC%2C_Damal).[3] The town is populated by [Turkmens](/source/Turkoman_(ethnonym)).[4]
