# Dall River

The **Dall River** is a [river](/source/River) in northern [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), [Canada](/source/Canada), flowing northwest into the [Turnagain River](/source/Turnagain_River), a tributary of the [Kechika](/source/Kechika_River), to the west of [Mount Skook Davidson](/source/Mount_Skook_Davidson). Originally named the **Cold Fish River**, it was renamed in 1944 to avoid confusion with another river of that name that is a tributary of the [Spatsizi](/source/Spatsizi_River), and because of the presence of [Dall's sheep](/source/Dall's_sheep) in the area.[1] [Dall Lake](/source/Dall_Lake_(British_Columbia)) is along its course, south of [Dall River Old Growth Provincial Park](/source/Dall_River_Old_Growth_Provincial_Park),[2] which lies between the lake and the confluence with the Turnagain. [Denetiah Provincial Park](/source/Denetiah_Provincial_Park), on the river's upper course, includes Dall Lake.[3]
