'''Dadhi''' is a small village in [Rupnagar district](/source/Rupnagar_district), [Punjab](/source/Punjab%2C_India), [India](/source/India), near the towns of [Rupnagar city](/source/Rupnagar), [Kiratpur Sahib](/source/Kiratpur_Sahib) and [Anandpur Sahib](/source/Anandpur_Sahib). The village is situated on the bank of the [Sutlej River](/source/Sutlej_River) about {{cvt|10|km|mi}} south of Anandpur, {{cvt|30|km|mi}} north of [Rupnagar](/source/Rupnagar) and {{cvt|90|km|mi}} from [Chandigarh](/source/Chandigarh) on the [Nangal](/source/Nangal)-[Rupnagar](/source/Rupnagar)-[Chandigarh](/source/Chandigarh) [road](/source/Roads_in_India) ([National Highway 21](/source/National_Highway_21_(India))).

[Kiratpur Sahib](/source/Kiratpur_Sahib) was established in 1627, by the 6th Nanak, [Guru Hargobind](/source/Guru_Hargobind), who bought the land from Raja Tara Chand of [Kehloor](/source/Kehloor) through his son, Baba Gurditta. [Guru Nanak Dev](/source/Guru_Nanak_Dev) is said to have visited this place when it was little more than a wilderness. Guru Hargobind spent the last few years of his life here. Both Guru Har Rai and Guru Harkrishan were also born and received the Gurgadi (Guruship) here. It is a sacred place for the [Sikh](/source/Sikh)s.

The village is also associated with the memory of a Muslim saint, Pir Buddan Shah who, according to legends, lived about 800 years.

Guru [Ramana Maharshi](/source/Ramana_Maharshi) Gramin Vikas Sanstha, a non-government organisation, has been working for the welfare of local people and to improve the village.
