# DC High Volume: Batman

***DC High Volume: Batman*** is an American [superhero](/source/Superhero_fiction) [podcast](/source/Podcast) series based on the [DC Comics](/source/DC_Comics) superhero [Batman](/source/Batman),[9] which debuted in April 2025.

The weekly serialized podcast adapts seminal comics from the Batman canon, *[Batman: Year One](/source/Batman:_Year_One)* by writer [Frank Miller](/source/Frank_Miller) and artist [David Mazzucchelli](/source/David_Mazzucchelli), as well as *[Batman: The Long Halloween](/source/Batman:_The_Long_Halloween)* and *[Batman: Dark Victory](/source/Batman:_Dark_Victory)* by writer [Jeph Loeb](/source/Jeph_Loeb) and artist [Tim Sale](/source/Tim_Sale_(artist)).[10][9][11][12]

With the release of episode 43, showrunners Fred Greenhalgh and Roshan Singh Sambhi announced that the podcast would go on hiatus in order to focus on future chapters.

## Plot

Episodes 1–4 adapt [Frank Miller](/source/Frank_Miller) and [David Mazzucchelli](/source/David_Mazzucchelli)'s *[Batman: Year One](/source/Batman:_Year_One)*, following Bruce Wayne's first year as the vigilante [Batman](/source/Batman) and [James Gordon](/source/Commissioner_Gordon)'s struggles navigating [Gotham City](/source/Gotham_City) as an honorable man working amongst a corrupt police force.[9]

Episodes 5–17 adapt [Jeph Loeb](/source/Jeph_Loeb) and [Tim Sale](/source/Tim_Sale_(artist))'s *[Batman: The Long Halloween](/source/Batman:_The_Long_Halloween)*, which centers around Batman, Gordon, and [Harvey Dent](/source/Two-Face)'s efforts to catch a mysterious killer known as Holiday. The story culminates with Harvey Dent's scarring, both mentally and physically, and his transformation into Two-Face.[9][12]

Episodes 18–30 adapt Loeb and Sale's *[Batman: Dark Victory](/source/Batman:_Dark_Victory)*, the direct sequel to *The Long Halloween*. It follows Batman as he pursues another serial killer "Hangman" and takes on a child protégé, '[Robin](/source/Dick_Grayson)'.[13][14][10][11][15]

Episodes 31–43 adapt [Darwyn Cooke](/source/Darwyn_Cooke)'s *Batman: Ego*, *Batman: The Gauntlet* by Bruce Canwell and [Lee Weeks](/source/Lee_Weeks), *Nightwing: Year One*, *[Batman: The Killing Joke](/source/Batman:_The_Killing_Joke)*, *Oracle: Year One*,[16] and the story *Date Knight* from the first issue of *[Solo](/source/Solo_(DC_Comics))*, by Darwyn Cooke and Tim Sale.
