***Cytharopsis*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [sea snails](/source/Sea_snail), [marine](/source/Marine_(ocean)) [gastropod](/source/Gastropod) [mollusks](/source/Mollusk) in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Mangeliidae](/source/Mangeliidae).[1]

Not to be confused with *Citharopsis* Pease, 1868, a synonym of *[Anarithma](/source/Anarithma)* Iredale, 1916 (family [Mitromorphidae](/source/Mitromorphidae)).

## Description

The fusiform shell is acuminate. The convex [whorls](/source/Whorl_(mollusc)) of the [spire](/source/Spire_(mollusc)) are cancellated with longitudinal ribs and transverse lirae. The [aperture](/source/Aperture_(mollusc)) is narrow. The outer [lip](/source/Lip_(gastropod)) is varicose. The [columella](/source/Columella_(gastropod)) is sillonated. The [siphonal canal](/source/Siphonal_canal) is curved to the left and elongated.[2][3]
