# Cylindera

***Cylindera*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [tiger beetles](/source/Tiger_beetles) native to the [Palearctic](/source/Palearctic), the [Near East](/source/Near_East) and [northern Africa](/source/Northern_Africa). It was a result of the breakup of the *[Cicindela](/source/Cicindela)* genus, and the status of *Cylindera* as a genus or a subgenus of the genus *[Cicindela](/source/Cicindela)* is in dispute.[1][2]
