==Production==
In an effort to save money on production costs and shoot less film in fewer days, [Columbia Pictures](/source/Columbia_Pictures) asked writer [Barry Shipman](/source/Barry_Shipman) to condense his script. Shipman took sequences from four older ''Durango Kid'' pictures, plus elements from an old scenario by [Ed Earl Repp](/source/Ed_Earl_Repp), and combined them into a new storyline, with Charles Starrett, Smiley Burnette and villain [Clayton Moore](/source/Clayton_Moore) appearing in new scenes.{{Citation needed|date=December 2025}}
