'''''Cyclargus''''' is a [genus](/source/genus) of [butterflies](/source/butterfly) in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Lycaenidae](/source/Lycaenidae). It was split off from the genus ''[Hemiargus](/source/Hemiargus)'' in 1948 by [Vladimir Nabokov](/source/Vladimir_Nabokov), although many [lepidopterist](/source/lepidopterist)s have not accepted the new genus as valid. Nabokov designated ''[C. ammon](/source/Cyclargus_ammon)'' (Lucas's blue, from [Cuba](/source/Cuba)) as the [type species](/source/type_species) for the genus, and included ''C. dominica'' (Jamaican blue, from [Jamaica](/source/Jamaica)), ''[C. thomasi](/source/Cyclargus_thomasi)'' (Thomas's blue, from [Florida](/source/Florida), the [Bahamas](/source/Bahamas), [Puerto Rico](/source/Puerto_Rico) and [Hispaniola](/source/Hispaniola)), ''C. woodruffi'' (from the [Virgin Islands](/source/Virgin_Islands)) and ''C. erembis'' (from the [Cayman Islands](/source/Cayman_Islands), synonym of ''C. ammon erembis''). In 1992 K. Johnston and Matusik described ''C. sorpresus'' and ''C. kathleena'', both from Hispaniola.

The critically endangered [Miami blue](/source/Miami_blue) (''C. thomasi bethunebakeri'') is a member of the genus.
