==Description==
''Cyanastrum'' has a [corm](/source/corm) that lacks a protective tunic. The leaf and the [inflorescence](/source/inflorescence) emerge from different [corm-scales](/source/Cataphyll), and are present at different times. The leaf has a short stalk, is basal and is usually single. The inflorescence is a [raceme](/source/raceme), often with no bracts, the [tepal](/source/tepal)s are blue and the flowers have parts in sixes.<ref name=Kubitzki>{{cite book|author=Klaus Kubitzki|title=Flowering Plants.
