# Cyamioidea

**Cyamioidea** is a [superfamily](/source/Superfamily_(biology)) of [bivalve](/source/Bivalvia) [mollusks](/source/Mollusca) in the [superorder](/source/Superorder) of Imparidentia.[1] It was described by Sars in 1878.[2] There is currently no widespread consensus as to which [taxa](/source/Taxon) belong in Cyamioidea, but it currently contains the families of [Cyamiidae](/source/Cyamiidae), [Gaimardiidae](/source/Gaimardiidae), and [Sportellidae](/source/Sportellidae). The group is suspected to be [polyphyletic](/source/Polyphyly).[3]
