# Cut Loose

***Cut Loose*** is the 1983 debut solo [album](/source/Album) by [Paul Rodgers](/source/Paul_Rodgers), of [Free](/source/Free_(band)) and [Bad Company](/source/Bad_Company) fame. Unlike his other work, Rodgers plays all the instruments on this album. It was recorded at his house in Kingstone.[1]

The song "Live in Peace" was later re-recorded by Rodgers with his band [The Firm](/source/The_Firm_(rock_band)) for their second album *[Mean Business](/source/Mean_Business)*. "Superstar Woman" was originally recorded by Bad Company for their debut [self-titled album](/source/Bad_Company_(album)), but it was ultimately left off the final track listing; Rodgers re-recorded it for this album. (The original Bad Company version was eventually released on *[The 'Original' Bad Co. Anthology](/source/The_'Original'_Bad_Co._Anthology)* in 1999.)[2] The album peaked at #135 on the *[Billboard](/source/Billboard_(magazine))'*s [200](/source/Billboard_200) [chart](/source/Record_chart).[3]
