**Krocylea** (Greek: **Κροκύλεια**) is an [Ancient Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek) name of an island in the [Ionian Sea](/source/Ionian_Sea), near [Ithaca](/source/Homer's_Ithaca). In Homer's *[Iliad](/source/Iliad)*, book II, Krocylea is part of [Odysseus](/source/Odysseus)'s kingdom[1]: 2.630. Some researchers, including [Wilhelm Dörpfeld](/source/Wilhelm_D%C3%B6rpfeld) estimate that Krocylea is present day island of [Atokos](/source/Atokos) or [Meganisi](/source/Meganisi)[citation needed]
