***Court Waltzes*** ([French](/source/French_language): ***La guerre des valses***) is a 1933 [musical film](/source/Musical_film) directed by [Ludwig Berger](/source/Ludwig_Berger_(director)) and [Raoul Ploquin](/source/Raoul_Ploquin) and starring [Fernand Gravey](/source/Fernand_Gravey), [Armand Dranem](/source/Armand_Dranem) and [Madeleine Ozeray](/source/Madeleine_Ozeray). It was the French-language version of *[Waltz War](/source/Waltz_War)*, made by the German studio [UFA](/source/Universum_Film_AG) and also directed by Berger.[1] In the early years of [sound](/source/Sound_film) it was common to shoot completely separate versions of films in different languages before [dubbing](/source/Dubbing_(filmmaking)) became more established. This movie was part of a trend of [operetta films](/source/Operetta_films) released during the decade.
