# Cotidal line

**Cotidal lines** are the set of places where [high tide](/source/High_tide) occurs at the same time.

They sometimes all meet at a particular point called the [amphidromic point](/source/Amphidromic_point), where the amplitude of the [tide](/source/Tide) is almost null.[1][2]
