**Cotes Grassland** is a 3.3-hectare (8.2-acre) biological [Site of Special Scientific Interest](/source/Site_of_Special_Scientific_Interest) in [Cotes](/source/Cotes%2C_Leicestershire) in [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire).[1][2]

This meadow on the bank of the [River Soar](/source/River_Soar) has a thin soil on [alluvial](/source/Alluvial) river gravels. It has several plants which are uncommon in the [Midlands](/source/The_Midlands), such as [soft trefoil](/source/Soft_trefoil), [spotted medick](/source/Spotted_medick), [knotted hedge-parsley](/source/Knotted_hedge-parsley), [wild clary](/source/Wild_clary) and [subterranean trefoil](/source/Subterranean_trefoil).[3]

There is access by a public footpath which crosses the site.
