The **Costa de Valencia** (Spanish: [\[ˈkosta ðe βaˈlenθja\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Spanish); [Valencian](/source/Valencian_language): ***Costa de València*** [\[ˈkɔsta ðe vaˈlensia\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Catalan), also [\[ˈkɔstɔ ðe vaˈlensia\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Catalan); literally meaning "Coast of Valencia") is [coastline](/source/Coast) and [tourism region](/source/Tourism_region) of the [province of Valencia](/source/Province_of_Valencia) in the [Valencian Community](/source/Valencian_Community), [Spain](/source/Spain). It covers the coast along the [Gulf of Valencia](/source/Gulf_of_Valencia) on the [Balearic Sea](/source/Balearic_Sea) in western part of the [Mediterranean Sea](/source/Mediterranean_Sea). It's located around the city of [Valencia](/source/Valencia) and extends from the [Camp de Morvedre](/source/Camp_de_Morvedre) in the north to [Safor](/source/Safor) in the south.

The Costa de Valencia has the most beaches with [Blue Flag](/source/Blue_Flag_beach) status in Spain.[1]

To its north is the [Costa del Azahar](/source/Costa_del_Azahar) (in [province of Castellón](/source/Castell%C3%B3n_(province))) and to the south lies the [Costa Blanca](/source/Costa_Blanca) (in the [province of Alicante](/source/Province_of_Alicante)).

## Climate

Valencia region have a [Mediterranean climate](/source/Mediterranean_climate) ([Köppen](/source/K%C3%B6ppen_climate_classification): *Csa*) bordering on a [semi-arid climate](/source/Semi-arid_climate) ([Köppen](/source/K%C3%B6ppen_climate_classification): *BSh*)[2][3] with mild winters and warm to hot, dry summers.[4][5]
