# Cosmo On-Line

**Cosmo On-Line** is a generic and news [Internet](/source/Internet) [portal](/source/Web_portal) operated by [media](/source/Mass_media) holding company [Rede Anhanguera de Comunicação](/source/Rede_Anhanguera_de_Comunica%C3%A7%C3%A3o) (RAC), located in [Campinas](/source/Campinas), state of [São Paulo](/source/S%C3%A3o_Paulo), [Brazil](/source/Brazil). It is the largest portal of the region, and one of the first to be founded (1996) juat after commercial access to the Internet became available in the country. The portal hosts the websites for the flagship publications of RAC, such as [newspapers](/source/Newspaper) *[Correio Popular](/source/Correio_Popular)*, *[Diário do Povo](/source/Di%C3%A1rio_do_Povo_(Campinas))*, *[Notícia Já](/source/Not%C3%ADcia_J%C3%A1)* and *[Metrópole](/source/Metr%C3%B3pole)* Magazine.

Cosmo was also an [Internet service provider](/source/Internet_service_provider) of significance in Campinas, for a while. The operation was sold by RAC to an international company, which later went into [bankruptcy](/source/Bankruptcy).
