# Coronado Municipality

**Coronado** is one of the 67 [Municipalities of Chihuahua](/source/Municipalities_of_Chihuahua), in northern [Mexico](/source/Mexico). The municipal seat lies at [Villa Coronado](/source/Villa_Coronado). The municipality covers an area of 1,756.1 km2.

As of 2010, the municipality had a total population of 2,284 [1] up from 2,046 as of 2005.[2]

The municipality had 79 localities, the largest of which (with 2010 populations in parentheses) were: [José Esteban Coronado](/source/Jos%C3%A9_Esteban_Coronado,_Chihuahua) (1,121) classified as rural.[1]
