# Coroieni

**Coroieni** (Hungarian: *Karulyfalva*) is a [commune](/source/Commune_in_Romania) in [Maramureș County](/source/Maramure%C8%99_County), [Transylvania](/source/Transylvania), [Romania](/source/Romania). It is composed of five villages: Baba (*Bába*), Coroieni, Dealu Mare (*Dombhát*), Drăghia (*Drágosfalva*), and Vălenii Lăpușului (*Dánpataka*).

The commune is situated at the northwestern edge of the [Transylvanian Plateau](/source/Transylvanian_Plateau), in the foothills of the [Lăpuș Mountains](/source/L%C4%83pu%C8%99_Mountains). It is located in the southern part of Maramureș County, within the historical [Țara Lăpușului](/source/%C8%9Aara_L%C4%83pu%C8%99ului) region. It lies 15 km (9.3 mi) southwest of [Târgu Lăpuș](/source/T%C3%A2rgu_L%C4%83pu%C8%99) and 48 km (30 mi) southeast of the county seat, [Baia Mare](/source/Baia_Mare), on the border with [Sălaj County](/source/S%C4%83laj_County).
