# Corne Powell

**Corne Powell** (born 27 May 1974 in [Namibia](/source/Namibia))[1] was a [Namibian](/source/Namibian) [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player. His playing position was [centre](/source/Centre_(rugby_union)). He was named in the [Namibia](/source/Namibia_national_rugby_union_team) squad for both the [2003 Rugby World Cup](/source/2003_Rugby_World_Cup) and the [2007 Rugby World Cup](/source/2007_Rugby_World_Cup)'s, making 5 total appearances in the tournaments, scoring one try.[2][3] He was the Namibian captain heading into the 2003 World Cup, before coach [David Waterston](/source/David_Waterston_(rugby_union)) announced Sean Furter as captain for the tournament.[4]
