# Conus duffyi

***Conus duffyi*** is a species of [sea snail](/source/Sea_snail), a marine [gastropod](/source/Gastropod) [mollusk](/source/Mollusc) in the family [Conidae](/source/Conidae), the [cone snails](/source/Conus) and their allies.[1]

Like all species within the genus *Conus*, these snails are [predatory](/source/Predatory) and [venomous](/source/Venomous). They are capable of [stinging](/source/Stinging) humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully or not at all.

## Distribution

This species occurs in the [Caribbean Sea](/source/Caribbean_Sea) at [Los Roques](/source/Los_Roques), [Venezuela](/source/Venezuela), and off the [Dutch Antilles](/source/Dutch_Antilles).[citation needed]

## Description

The maximum recorded [shell](/source/Gastropod_shell) length is 42 mm.[2]

## Habitat

The average recorded depth of *Conus duffyi* is 2 meters.[2]
