Extinct genus of gastropods

Conorbis Scientific classification Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Mollusca Class: Gastropoda Subclass: Caenogastropoda Order: Neogastropoda Superfamily: Conoidea Family: Conorbidae Genus: †Conorbis Swainson, 1840[1] Species See text

***Conorbis*** is an extinct genus of [sea snails](/source/Sea_snail), marine [gastropod](/source/Gastropod) [mollusks](/source/Mollusk) in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Conorbidae](/source/Conorbidae).[3]

This genus was formerly classified in the family [Conidae](/source/Conidae) by Vredenburg (1921)[4] in the clade [Neogastropoda](/source/Neogastropoda) by Sepkoski (2002)[5] and in the subfamily Conorbiinae by Harzhauser (2007).[6]

*Conorbis* is the type genus of the family [Conorbidae](/source/Conorbidae).[7] The type species of the genus *Conorbis* is extinct.[7] Species in this genus lack nadules.
