'''''Conanthera''''' is a genus of small [bulbous plants](/source/bulb) with small [panicle](/source/panicle)s of blue, purple or white and purple flowers. Propagation is by offsets or seed. All species are native to [Chile](/source/Chile), but there is an old 18th-Century report of ''C. bifolia'' occurring in colonial [Peru](/source/Peru)<ref>specimen collected some time between 1778 and 1788, type of ''C. bifolia'' cited by Ruiz López, Hipólito & Pavón, José Antonio. 1802. Florae Peruvianae, et Chilensis Prodromus 3: 68, ''Conanthera''</ref> as well. This could possibly be attributed to changes in boundaries between the two countries, as modern sources list the species as [endemic](/source/endemic) to [Chile](/source/Chile).<ref name=kwc/><ref name=trop2>{{ cite web |url=http://www.tropicos.org/Name/1200275?tab=distribution |title=Name - ''Conanthera bifolia'' Ruiz & Pav. distribution |work=Tropicos |publisher=MBG |accessdate=February 7, 2012}}</ref>
