# Comox Lake

**Comox Lake** is a glacier fed [freshwater](/source/Freshwater) [lake](/source/Lake) located in mid-[Vancouver Island](/source/Vancouver_Island), [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), [Canada](/source/Canada). It is located northwest of the smaller [Beaufort Lake](/source/Beaufort_Lake) in the [Comox Valley](/source/Comox_Valley) near [Cumberland, British Columbia](/source/Cumberland,_British_Columbia), and about 8km southwest of [Courtenay](/source/Courtenay,_British_Columbia). The lake is a reservoir for drinking water and for hydroelectric power.

Comox lake is well known for its surrounding hiking and bike trails.[1][2]
