The **Comorian Democratic Union** ([French](/source/French_language): *Union Démocratique des Comores*, UDC) was a political party in the [Comoros](/source/Comoros).

## History

The party was established in 1968, and was based mainly in [Grande Comore](/source/Grande_Comore).[1] It became known as the "Green Party", as it used green ballots during elections.[1]

In the [cantonal elections](/source/Comorian_cantonal_election%2C_1972) in 1972, the UDC formed an alliance with the [Democratic Rally of the Comorian People](/source/Democratic_Rally_of_the_Comorian_People), winning 34 of the 39 seats.
