The Community First Igloo serves as the forefront for ice sports in Northeast Florida. It houses two NHL-sized ice rinks and offers a variety of different activities for hockey, figure skating, and [curling](/source/curling). It offers a wide range of programs for all ages and skill levels. This includes Learn to Skate and Learn to Play lessons in collaboration with Learn to Skate USA®. Both youth and adult hockey leagues are available, along with drop-in hockey and Stick & Puck sessions. Figure skaters can take part in the coaching program and freestyle ice time. Later, the [Jacksonville Barracudas](/source/Jacksonville_Barracudas) of the [Southern Professional Hockey League](/source/Southern_Professional_Hockey_League) (SPHL) used it for training and as an alternate arena when scheduling conflicts precluded them from using their usual venue, the [Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena](/source/Jacksonville_Veterans_Memorial_Arena).<ref name="Barracuda">{{cite news |url=http://jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/041007/spc_9157892.shtml |title=Barracudas on 'Ice' for championship |work=[The Florida Times-Union](/source/The_Florida_Times-Union) |first=Jason |last=Schneider |date=2007-04-10 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20161231082128/http://jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/041007/spc_9157892.shtml#.WGdqinHP32c |archive-date=2016-12-31}}</ref> The Barracudas would later declare the Community First Igloo as their home rink.

In 2025, Community First Igloo became the official host for the [AAU National Hockey Tournaments](/source/Amateur_Athletic_Union).<ref>{{Cite web |title=AAU College Hockey National Tournament |url=https://aautournamentcentral.org/ |access-date=2025-05-19 |language=en-US}}</ref>
