**Comilla-9** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of Bangladesh. [Md. Abul Kalam](/source/Md._Abul_Kalam) is the incumbent representative member since February 2026.

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Laksam](/source/Laksam_Upazila) and [Manoharganj](/source/Manoharganj_Upazila) upazilas.[1][2]

## History

The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973.

Ahead of the [2008 general election](/source/2008_Bangladeshi_general_election), the [Election Commission](/source/Bangladesh_Election_Commission) redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [2001 Bangladesh census](/source/2001_Bangladesh_census).[3] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[4]
