In 1970, the company was founded by Edward Lowder, the father of [Bobby Lowder](/source/Bobby_Lowder), the head of the failed [Colonial Bank](/source/Colonial_Bank_(United_States)) and [Colonial Bancgroup](/source/Colonial_Bancgroup).
