**Collins Square** is one of the largest commercial developments in [Australia](/source/Australia) and the largest in the [Melbourne central business district](/source/Melbourne_central_business_district) of [Victoria](/source/Victoria_(Australia)), covering an area of c. 2 hectares (5 acres).[1][2][3]

## Description

Located at 717-747 [Collins Street, Melbourne](/source/Collins_Street,_Melbourne) in the [Batman's Hill](/source/Batman's_Hill) precinct in [Melbourne's Docklands](/source/Docklands,_Victoria), Collins Square comprises approximately 260,000 square metres (2,800,000 sq ft) of commercial and retail floor space. The project also includes part of the historic [No 2 Goods Shed](/source/No_2_Goods_Shed) and Lantern building.[4]

The Collins Square project was developed by [Walker Corporation](/source/Walker_Corporation). Walker owns and manages the precinct with the exception of Tower 3, which is owned by [CIMB-Trust Capital Advisors](/source/CIMB).[5][6] As of October 2018, the project is understood to have had a market value of A$3 [billion](/source/1,000,000,000).[7]

[Bates Smart](/source/Bates_Smart) led the design of the Master Plan including the retail podium, and three commercial towers. Buchan provided fine-grain[clarification needed] advice on the design of the retail precinct. [Hassell](/source/Hassell_(architecture_firm)) designed the third tower, with [Woods Bagot](/source/Woods_Bagot) designing the final tower. Sissons Architects also provided architectural services to Walker Corporation.[8][9][10]

Each of the towers feature artwork by prominent artists; [John Olsen](/source/John_Olsen_(Australian_artist)) was commissioned to paint his 48-square metre (520-square foot) 'King Sun' for Tower 1.[11] A large painting by [Yannima Tommy Watson](/source/Yannima_Tommy_Watson) features in the lobby of Tower 5.[12]

The first tower was constructed by Built, with [Multiplex](/source/Multiplex_(company)) completing the balance of the project in early 2018. Hutchinson constructed the Lantern Building and refurbished the Goods Shed.[13][14][15][16]

The commercial towers are supported by [Cogeneration](/source/Cogeneration) systems, rainwater harvesting, solar arrays, and regenerative lifts leading to 6 Star [NABERS](/source/NABERS) energy ratings.[17]

Collins Square has a number of multi-national companies as tenants; [KPMG](/source/KPMG), [AECOM](/source/AECOM), [AUSTRAC](/source/Australian_Transaction_Reports_and_Analysis_Centre), [Mercer](/source/Mercer_(consulting_firm)), [Transurban](/source/Transurban), [Marsh & McLennan](/source/Marsh_%26_McLennan), [IWG plc](/source/IWG_plc), [Pearson Publishing](/source/Pearson_plc), [Pepperstone](/source/Pepperstone), [BDO Global](/source/BDO_Global), [Tabcorp](/source/Tabcorp), [Mott MacDonald](/source/Mott_MacDonald) the [Commonwealth Bank](/source/Commonwealth_Bank), and the [Australian Taxation Office](/source/Australian_Taxation_Office).[18] The 27,000-square metre (290,000-square foot) leasing deal with KPMG was touted as the largest leasing transaction in Australia during 2013.[19]
