# Collin Hansen

**Collin Hansen** (born April 7, 1981) is an American journalist who serves as vice president for content and editor in chief for [the Gospel Coalition](/source/The_Gospel_Coalition). He is best known for his writing on the [New Calvinism](/source/New_Calvinism), and he hosts the *Gospelbound* podcast.[1]

## Biography and education

Hansen is from [Chester, South Dakota](/source/Chester,_South_Dakota). He received an undergraduate degree in history and journalism from [Northwestern University](/source/Northwestern_University). He earned a [Master of Divinity](/source/Master_of_Divinity) from [Trinity Evangelical Divinity School](/source/Trinity_Evangelical_Divinity_School).[2] Prior to working for the Gospel Coalition, Hansen was an associate editor for *[Christianity Today](/source/Christianity_Today)*. He lives with his wife and children in [Birmingham, Alabama](/source/Birmingham,_Alabama), and serves on the advisory board of [Beeson Divinity School](/source/Beeson_Divinity_School).[3] He is the founder of the [Shelby Foote](/source/Shelby_Foote) Society.[4]

## New Calvinism

Hansen is considered an expert on the New Calvinism, a term that was coined for the title of his 2008 book *Young, Restless, Reformed: A Journalist's Journey With the New Calvinists*.[5] He has been quoted on the movement by *[Time](/source/Time_(magazine))*[6] and *[The New York Times](/source/The_New_York_Times)*.[7]
